Emily Wimberger is the Chief Economist at the California Air Resources Board. In her role, Emily advises the Executive Office and Chairman on economic issues and leads a team of economists working to support ARB’s economic analyses. At ARB, Emily also has experience analyzing the market for Cap-and-Trade allowances and related energy, fuel, and carbon markets, implements the Cap-and-Trade Regulation.
Prior to joining ARB, Emily was a researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she analyzed the economic impact of AB 32, the California Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006. Emily graduated with a PhD in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis, where her research focused on incentives for reducing smog-forming pollutants from in-use motor vehicles in California.
